Buxton Talking Newspaper
Volunteers
We have thirty volunteers who work between the Advertiser and the magazine. A team of Advertiser volunteers meet each week. An editor selects the articles from the paper and two teams of readers then read them aloud and their voices are recorded to a computer. This is technically edited and another team carries out all the administration of the listeners’ register, duplicating the memory sticks. These are posted out in special yellow pouches to all who have requested them, living locally and those who have moved further afield.
The Magazine volunteers work from home and send their recordings to the compiler who sends the finished recording on for copying, etc. These are blue sticks, posted out in blue pouches.
If you would like to join our happy band on a Thursday in one of the following sections please contact Patricia.
